Abstract

The article analyzes didactic and methodological researches in the field of creating textbooks for primary school. The objectives of the textbook are determined in the context of the implementation of the competence-based approach in the educational process. It is substantiated the relevance of creating innovative Ukrainian language textbooks, that are ensuring the formation of subject and key competences in primary school students. The functions of the Ukrainian language textbook for primary school in terms of competence-based learning, the requirements for its content, structural components and methods for presenting didactic material are clarified
