FORMATION OF ORAL LANGUAGE SKILLS OF PRIMARY PUPILS – REPRESENTATIVES OF NATIONAL MINORITIES AT UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE LESSONS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of formation of oral language skills of pupils – representatives of national minorities, which are considered as means of comfortable interaction in the multiethnic and multilingual society. The author gives reasons for the priority of forming skills and abilities of oral language, characterizes main areas of work, namely: formation and improvement of orthoepic skills and abilities, vocabulary work, formation of grammar skills, formation and development of auditory skills, development of dialogic and monologic continuous speech. The article also outlines the most important approaches to the formation of oral language skills at Ukrainian language lessons in general secondary education institutions where the education is conducted in national minority languages, such as personality-oriented, active, communicative and competence-based approaches. The author also defines the basic conditions for forming oral language skills of pupils – representatives of national minorities, namely: consideration of the age and psychological features of pupils, psycholinguistic features of studying Ukrainian language as second one, the results of comparative analysis of the language systems of Ukrainian language and the native language, the peculiarities of pupils’ language environment, application of main methods, techniques, forms and means of education, various types of work aimed at developing skills and abilities of oral language, providing work on formation and development of speech skills almost at every Ukrainian language lesson
