Abstract

This article studies the perspectives of creation of the Textbook Experts School. It states the problems of expert evaluation of textbook projects during the competitive selection and describes the means how to solve them through organizing systematic training for the experts and through implementing effective models of evaluation created by ukrainian scientists. Article defines, that education system uses following methods of textbook evaluation: expert evaluation before implementing textbooks at schools, approbation, expert evaluation during experimental implementation, definition of textbook quality based on the study results of the students. The article emphasizes the significance of experimental implementation method, as it will help to provide schools with qualitative schoolbooks. It highlights that expert evaluation during experimental implementation of textbooks helps to make a balanced, confirmed by school practice, decision on the effectiveness of the proposed methodological system for the educational process. The article explains the necessity to create the training program for textbook evaluation experts and to widen the program of teachers skills improvement with textbook evaluation module. The article proposes to create mentioned above programs by taking into account the requirements for textbook evaluation experts which are by itself based on the requirements to modern textbook. The image of the modern textbook is designed based on the results of theoretical studies of textbook creation and analysis, requests from students, teachers, parents and country with regards to the functional purpose of the textbook and its focus on realisation of following approaches in educational process: personality-oriented, competence-based, activity-based and axiological approaches.
