Abstract
The article reveals the peculiarities of the work on updating the content and the formation of a textbook on the subject “Perspective and shadows” for students of higher educational institutions of І–ІІ level of accreditation studying design. The most important historical background of the discipline and the modern realities of its development were analyzed, the relevance and importance of preserving the academic subject in the educational schedule of future designers was underlined. Sufficient attention is paid to modern and the latest technological methods of obtaining realistic images from photography to 3D virtual reality modeling. The necessity of acquiring skills of working with the construction of perspective images in the graphic addition of the finished source images is substantiated. The place of the discipline «Perspective and shadows» in the development of artistic and constructive competence of future designers has been determined.Intermediate results of studies of the process of updating educational tasks on the basis of the principles of the competence approach are considered. The consecutive stages of the formation of a new textbook are highlighted, which logically supplements the author’s “Workbook on the subject “Perspective and shadows”, which is actively used in the educational process at the College of Art and Design KNUTD.
