Abstract

The article is devoted to the conceptual bases of the Ukrainian literature textbook in conditions of competence-oriented literary teaching. Effective methods, techniques, principles of a teacher’s and student’s work with a textbook are described. Its content, structure, methodical apparatus, main headings, the application of which, according to the author, requires new approaches to the use of didactic and methodological features of a textbook, illustrations in the lessons of Ukrainian literature, modern innovative, interactive technologies of teaching Ukrainian literature are characterized. Implementation of the described methods, techniques, principles, competence-based tasks, competence-oriented and personality-oriented teaching in the lessons of Ukrainian literature allows a teacher-philologist to implement in practice the ideas of a competenceoriented model of education, pedagogy of cooperation, group forms of students’ work on project activity on the basis of competent and active teaching, formation of key and subject reader competences, a competent student-reader. It is emphasized that the present textbook contains the characteristics of self-instruction which is practice oriented and technological. The structure and content of the school books give a clear picture of what and how to teach and learn. Tесhnology tutorial offers the teacher a guide to the scope and nature of educational material, its sequence, methods and techniques of work, the student recommendations for the effective assimilation of subject content at any desired level, building skills to learn, to acquire knowledge, skills and self-development.
