Abstract

The article is devoted to the conceptual approaches to the design of a tutorial «History of Ukraine in Sources». The introduction of a competence approach in the educational process necessitates changes in the approaches to constructing educational literature on history. According to the authors, one of the most effective teaching aids in history is a tutorial, which contains special didactic material and facilitates pupil' s individual work during learning of the subject. When developing the concept of the tutorial «History of Ukraine in Sources», the authors proceeded from the fact that it should maximally ensure the possibility for individual work of pupils, both through the system of selected historical sources and through the system of tasks of different didactic purpose. This approach will contribute to the formation of pupils' skills of critical analysis of historical sources, historical thinking in general. The article outlines the methodological conditions for organizing work with historical sources in the process of teaching history in institutions of general secondary education. It is noted that the tasks in the tutorial should form a system and promote the development not only of reproductive, but also of creative activity and reflexive qualities of a pupil. According to the authors, the leading role in the tutorial should be devoted to creative and research tasks. The article states that in the process of designing the tutorial «History of Ukraine in Sources» the prospects for further study concern the methodology of organizing project and research work of pupils on the basis of processing various types of sources.
