The statement that a textbook is its leading element that represents not only the approaches to the structure and the content of physics course but also the methodological system of its implementation is grounded. A physics textbook is viewed from the standpoint of sociocultural approach as a source of product-research and educational activities at some stage of the education system and methodological thought. It was demonstrated that the traditions of the national physics textbook are of holistic and systemic nature.
