Abstract

The article deals with the problem of the integrated approach and selection of educational material to the content of teaching aids in physics for higher educational institutions of a technical profile, taking into account the trends of the development of STEM-education. Interdisciplinary connections in physics with subjects of professional direction are highlighted. The emphasis is on the basic principles of selecting a training material for benefits based on STEM education. In connection with this, there is a need to provide students with appropriate teaching aids that reveal the content of integrated learning with a combination of STEM technologies, which is the latest addition and background information in a particular direction. Such aids foresee the use of didactic, psychologically and methodically appropriate methods, forms and types of learning that are consistent with both modern approaches to physics education and the profiling of its content depending on the chosen teaching profile. Applying in the educational process of higher educational institutions the integration of scientific knowledge can achieve the following results: 1) knowledge of students become systematic; 2) skills are generalizing, promoting the integrated application of knowledge, their synthesis, the transfer of ideas and methods from one branch of science to another, which, in essence, is the basis of a creative approach to human scientific work in modern conditions; 3) the world view of the direction of cognitive interests of students is intensified; 4) convictions are formed more effectively, comprehensive development of personality is achieved; 5) integrated classes promote intensification, optimization of educational and pedagogical activity. Prospects for further research are to develop a methodology for teaching physics, taking into account the integrated approach in the conditions of the development of STEM-education in technical universities.
