Abstract

The article deals with the issue of creating an electronic textbook on the example of an integrated course in geography based on the author's pedagogical experience and analysis of publications in the Ukrainian and foreign pedagogical press. The methodical recommendations for planning and implementation of personal projects of the creation of electronic textbooks are developed on the example of an integrated course in geography. Well-defined definitions of concepts and basic terminology, such as electronic edition, kinds of production-practical and educational electronic editions, electronic educational resources and their types, etc. are given. The normative and legal documentation recommended for use during the preparation of electronic textbooks, examples of the step-by-step creation of electronic teaching materials on geography are suggested, taking into account the key changes in updated educational curricula for 5th–9th grades on geography based on the results of discussions on the EdEra platform and subject working groups for 2017/2018 academic year. Methodical recommendations on the creation of an electronic textbook are based on the main stages: I stage – development of the program of elective courses or a school subject. II stage – creation of a textbook for students. ІІІ stage – preparation of illustrative materials for the textbook for students. IV stage – preparation of video materials for the textbook for students. Stage V – preparation of cartographic materials for the textbook. Stage VI – selection, development and implementation of additional materials for the electronic textbook. VІІ stage – actual production of the electronic textbook in the publishing house. The prospects for further research on this area are seen in the supplementary development of the issues of the translation of geographical names, the peculiarities of geographical mapping in the image of certain processes or phenomena. For teachers of high school the creation of electronic textbooks on integrated courses of specialized education with in-depth study of their subjects of choice, application of a competent approach, textbooks connected with the labor market, etc. will become relevant. As for geography, it is necessary to develop themes of rectangular coordinates in the topic "Geographic map" (grade 8), production of building materials (grade 9), and others. It is intended for teachers of geography and other teachers of general educational institutions.
