Abstract

The article considers the basic stages of Ukrainian literature textbook construction for high school, defining clear system of requirements in its training concept development, content structuring, writing of textbook main sections and their experimental testing. The requirements, which the author of textbooks (textbook) must to be guided by the relevant provisions of the regulatory pedagogy and educational psychology, methodology (including the theory of school textbook), of modern literature education, to know the current programs in the subject for all forms, and taking into account the age characteristics of students, mental, cognitive abilities, the general level of students development, whom the textbook was written for. It was proved that the efficiency and quality of students knowledge mastering is largely dependent on the semantic content, logic and sequence of construction, the variety and originality of the obtained knowledge control, system of tasks,problems and questions. According to the purpose and objectives and  training students level textbook should determine the amount and the system, which shall be explored. The content of the manual has to provide the link with life, to be aimed at the formation of students personality, developing his skills and talents. Handbook should be interesting for students and written with language that corresponds to the assimilation capabilities of certain age students at the appropriate level and in the time, to interpret educational content in an accessible form, to contain tasks system which are objectively feasible for students and match their level of development, pre-secondary school preparation, to avoid primitive simplification and vulgarisation of scientific content. Accessibility level of textbook should be successfully used by students in self-education using its training material; the use of additional teaching facilities, audiovisual materials, CDs, visual aids, maps and more.
