Abstract
The author investigates different approaches to the understanding of such definitions as “competency”, “competence” “primary school teacher professional competence”, and “communicative competence”, clarifies their contents and identifies their distinctness. The analysis and synthesis of scientific researches enables to enunciate the definitions of notions “lexical competence of feature primary school teacher” and “phraseological competence of feature primary school teacher” as basic determinants in primary school teacher linguo-didactic preparation. Within the article the author considers the lexical-phraseological competence of future primary school teacher as the professionally important characteristic of the future specialist. This feature includes: theoretical knowledge of Lexicology and Phraseology as the branch of Linguistics; skills of є using lexical and phraseological units within the genres of pedagogical speaking according to the communicative situation; compliance with the norms of modern Ukrainian literature language (considering constant lexical changes and transformations); lexical richness of speaking: availability of individual-professional potential which reveals: within the ability to choose lexemes (considering typological characteristics of primary school pupils); to adopt the educational material (selection of synonymic equivalents); to develop linguistic flair and linguistic taste; conscious using of valuable potential and aesthetics of lexical and phraseological units.
