Abstract

The article deals with the function of the workbooks on literary reading for the pupils of the 2nd–4th grades (compensatory, information, functions aimed at individualization, generalization and systematization of pupils’ knowledge, control and evaluative activities). The potential of the workbooks from the perspective of for ming important components of the experience of reading activity: motivational, cognitive, active, reflexive; implementing subject-subject, polysubject interrelation between students staged processing, technology of the staged work on the content of different types of texts, pupils’ interaction with the text, the author, the characters of the paper is analyzed.
• The system of exercises and tasks for the development and improvement
of the following components of the pupils’ reader ship was specified:
• Skill of reading aloud and silently;
• Work on a fictional text, scientific and artistic papers;
• Work on children’s books;
• Control and evaluation of the pupils’ activities.
The technology of processing the content of the art, scientific and artistic works in different stages of text: pre-text, text proper, after-text ones was illustrated. In the process of conducting the analysis on exercises and tasks centered on the pupils’ mastering of the components of the experience of reading activity, a significant emphasis is put on the levels of mastering different kinds of textual (factual, conceptual, contextual) information for different age groups of primary schoolchildren.
