Abstract

The article defines the concept of a textbook for blind children. It also discusses the requirements for its structure, printing in Braille, and defines major peculiarities of adapting learning materials to the peculiarities of comprehension of the students with visual impairments. The information provided below will be useful both for visual impairment professionals who actually adapt textbooks to the needs and requirements of visually impaired students and the publishers of studying materials also in Braille, as well as for the authors of school textbooks, who will then be able take into consideration the peculiarities mentioned, and will thus make the process of adapting textbooks to the needs of students with significant visual impairments. In order to provide better results in the field of production of modern adapted textbooks for the children with significant sight impairments there has emerged a necessity of developing specific methodological base for the specialists who work in the field of adapting and pre-printing development in Braille. This is exactly what the below article focuses on. Further on focus on the mentioned peculiarities and application of methodological solutions suggested will allow to consider the opinion of the visual impairment specialists, who provide adaptation of the textbooks to the needs of children with visual impairments, while considering lists of textbooks, which possess the most structurally and methodologically suitable content to meet the needs of visually impaired people. This will make the process of work on adapting learning materials and pre-printing production of textbooks in Braille easier.
