Abstract

The article defines the problem of providing textbooks for children with visual impairments and the requirements of printed educational literature for pupils who have low vision. These domestic scientists who studied this issue. Identify the psychological characteristics of perception of printed material, pictures and images visually impaired pupils depending on the complexity and breach of residual vision, including visual and fields of vision, contrast sensitivity, color perception, color differentiation and others. Presented features of visual function in children with low vision, that affects the perception of school material. Determined problems that have this category of children when working with textbooks, books, educational texts and illustrations etc. Provide recommendations for the production of printed teaching materials for children with low vision, namely: the position of text and illustrations on the pages of books for elementary school students, requirements to the execution of educational tables and diagrams selection of drawings and images (contrast, line width etc), placing and formatting text, font size, and the others. In the manufacture of nonferrous manuals recommendations on the use of contrasting combinations within the twelve spectral colors.
Marked harmful things to preserve residual vision in visually impaired children during book printing educational text and visual images in the textbook. The necessity of observance of rules of use of printing materials and compliance with domestic state requirements to print educational materials for children of primary school age.
