Abstract
The article discloses an experimental study aimed to identification of perception of textbook characteristics which have been formed in consciousness of upper-form pupils. The features of perception of modern textbook image from the group of natural-science subjects at 9th form educational level by upperformers were studied. The textbook is considered as a main tool of educational activity, and the effectiveness of its use by a pupil is determined by tool properties and personal attitude of the pupil to this activity tool. The research method is based on the use of semantic differetial technology. The main factors describing textbook image in pupils’ consciousness are identified.
