Abstract

The article considers the essence of speech communication strategies / communication strategies as a component of communicative competence. The problem of speech communication strategies is widely studied by specialists in sociology, psychology, psycholinguistics, communicative linguistics, rhetoric, sociolinguistics, conflict studies, the theory of artificial intelligence and so on. However, to date, a single typology of strategies for speech communication has not been created. The question of the components of the strategy also remains open. Synthesizing the views of scholars from different fields of knowledge on the strategies of speech communication, the author tries to methodically interpret this concept and interprets it as a set of certain speech actions within the communicative process that determine the choice of language and expression, and aimed at achieving communication. The educational activity of students ‒ representatives of national minorities in Ukrainian language lessons involves the operation of certain communication strategies. A typical Ukrainian language program for grades 3-4 of schools with instruction in national minority languages stipulates that the activity content line represents certain communication strategies used in the implementation of all types of speech activities, as well as outlines the skills to be formed in students. They reflect the implementation of such cognitive principles as planning, execution, control, correction in various types of communicative activities. The publication reveals the role of the textbook as a certain methodological basis, which reflects the priority of competency-oriented educational system, its focus on the formation of key and subject competencies. The analysis of the content of Ukrainian language textbooks for 3-4 grades of schools with instruction in the languages of national minorities is presented in order to identify their potential in the formation of speech communication strategies in students. The results of this work showed that the textbooks contain enough resources to master the strategies of speech communication and expand the communicative repertoire of students ‒ members of national minorities.
