Abstract
In the article, the modern requirements to the textbooks on history of the Middle Ages in the context of a competence-based approach to learning were determined; the topicality of interaction of all its components that must be ensured at the lessons of world history in the 7th grade was specified; the basic requirements to the formation of historical competence of the seventh grade pupils by means of a textbook were featured; the ways to introduce competence-based approach to world history lessons in the 7th grade were found out, the educational and in formative as well as upbringing potential of the above mentioned course was considered. The author analyzed the historical nature of the subject competence as an integral indicator of cognitive, research, emotional and evaluation activity of pupils. The article describes the types of tasks that a teacher can use to create spatial, chronological, informative, logical, axiological competence. The conversion of such problems into a teaching and learning system will contribute to the seventh grade pupils’ coherent historical competence.
