Abstract

The article presents an analysis of original-layouts of the school biology textbooks for Grade 7 in context of their importance for the formation of the subject matter biological competence.Subject biological competence we regard as substantively of knowledge, skills, ways of thinking, which necessary for effective educational actions within the biology. A special role in building the competency learning belongs to school textbook as a model of learning process.They can update subjective problems of students, turn their own cognitive problems and teach to address them. Analysis of educational books leads to the conclusion that authors, developing textbooks, partial improved existing, adapting those to current conditionsand objectives.Fundamentally authors changed the structure, content and form of textbooks.Hence, the proposed on contest biology textbooks are only on the way to the organization of the formation of seventh graders subject biological competence. Given the results of the analysis and to improving of textbooks that are created based on state standards for basic and complete secondary education, developers should take into account the peculiarities of competence approach to shaping thecontent of biological education.Positive results in formation of competencies can be achieved only by combining informative and activity components and content components of reproductive and productive learning.
