Abstract

In the article, the controversial issue of the expediency of the usage of the workbook in Informatics as a didactic means is actualized; its didactic opportunities for the formation of the pupils’ self-education competence were studied. Themanagement of the defi ned resources was exemplifi ed by the authorial workbook in Informatics for the pupils of the 5th grade. By means of the multi-aspect content differentiation, the usage of the workbook in Informatics for the pupils of the 5th grade must assure the fulfi llment of the key educational tasks that are set: the development of the pupil’s personality, mainly, his/her intellect and critical thinking, the more tough comprehension of the key statements, the practicability of the skills and the ability to solve the creative tasks, the systematic control on studying and its effectiveness from the competence-based aspects, the formation of the ability to refl ect. Under certain conditions, a workbook in Informatics for the pupils of the 5th grade becomes a multifunctional printed didactic means which makes teaching more effective, in particularly, activates the pupils’ self-education activity and promotes the formation of their self-education competence. In the academic process, the implementation of the didactically ideal workbook provides the proper conditions for the organization of the pupils’ independent academic activity, gradually prepares them for their self-education implementing the principle of the «lifelong education».
