Abstract
In the article, the conceptual approaches to the pedagogical culture issue, the signifi cance of its formation and development for a headmaster and a teacher which is predetermined by the fact that pedagogical culture assures and promotes the spiritual and material values, gives a qualitative characteristics of the headmaster’s management activity are represented. The following conceptual approaches were chosen for the study on the pedagogical culture issue in the headmaster’s management activity: axiological, activity-based, ethnical and sociological, personality-oriented, spiritual ones. In the article, it is stated that being a common culture component pedagogical culture has various functions: human development, cognitive, educational ones, acquisition and transmission, accumulation and experience transfer, communicative, legislative, prognostics, integrative, informational, hedonistic, and protective functions. In the article, the pedagogical culture structure which is divided into two parts (cognitive and behavioral ones) and two levels (external and internal) is studied. They play a considerable role in the pedagogical culture formation. The author of the article puts an emphasis on the pedagogical culture importance in the headmaster’s management activity as well as the necessity for its formation and development in the educational institutions and in the post-graduate education system.
