Abstract

This scientifi c publication analyzes methodological aspects of pupils’ independent work abilities formation with electronic textbook in studying physical geography. An effective methodology of independent work skills formation with an electronic textbook on physical geography is based on the optimal combination of various forms of pupils’ activity, means of training, use of a diverse range of educational techniques. Electronic textbook expands the possibilities for selforganization and self-learning educational activity. The key characteristics of electronic textbook and features of its use by students are identifi ed. The principles of the creation, levels of implementation, requirements for the design, and functional advantages of electronic textbooks on the printed books are highlighted. The structure and components of the actions which are the basis of independent work skills formation are examined.
