Abstract

In the article the urgency of developing a new generation of textbooks for literature; given the defi nition of «approach», «competent student-reader»; outlines the fundamental ideas fundamental to the Ukrainian school of pedagogical approaches – active, learner-centered, competency, their differences and relationships. The author sees the purpose of education literature on the basis of activity, student-centered, competency-based approaches in creating the conditions for personal and readership of the student development, its formation as a subject of a library, educational and giftware activity, the formation of competent studentreader; gives a list of key characteristics of the educational process: the activity base, the reliance on the subjective experience of the pupil, primary pupil product, the subject-subject relations between teacher and student, dialogue, pragmatism,
variation, refl ectivity, etc. The role of the textbook in this process, the fundamental approaches to the formation of the content and methodological apparatus of an educational book for literature.
