Abstract
Today, the study and use of this concept becomes relevant for the methodology of teaching mathematics, as the socialization of students, among other things, involves: mastering a certain system of knowledge and norms; acceptance of values and patterns of behavior; purposeful influence on the personality
Regarding the teaching of mathematics, the problem of socialization and personal development of students arose in the works related to the International Monitoring of the Quality of Education PISA. Special tests have been developed for the PISA. In these tests, each math task belongs to one of four contextual categories (personal, professional, social, scientific). This provides students with tasks that present a wide range of personal interests and the range of situations that students may face in their lives.
The analysis of native and foreign (Poland, USA) mathematics textbooks for the inclusion of tasks of personal and social categories is carried out in the article. It is concluded that the tasks of these categories are presented in mathematics textbooks for different classes and different author groups. The place and significance of the tasks of personal and social categories in the socialization of the younger generation are revealed in the article. Forms and methods of working with such tasks in the process of teaching mathematics to students are described. Specific examples of tasks for each of the categories are given.
