Abstract

This paper analyzes the linguodidactic foundationsof creation of learning materials on theoretical linguistic courses for foreign students on the example the textbooks «Introduction to Translation Theory» and «Modern Ukrainian Language. Syntax». The most important task in creating of a textbook for foreigners is methodically correct combination of the principles of scientifi c approach and accessibility. When creating textbooks on theoretical courses for foreign students-philologists we need primarily to take into account the level of language profi ciency. Educational materials for fi rst-second year students who have not yet formed the skills of scientifi c speech, should have an accessible form of presentation, include an explanation of certain general scientifi c terms or comments to some linguistic topics that are yet unstudied by foreigners.Visualization of theoretical material increases the effi ciency of the educational process in a foreign audience – we should use schemes and tables that summarize and systematize theoretical information. The realities of the educational process (different level of language profi ciency of groups or students) determine the need for a suffi cient number of multi-level theoretical and practical exercises, additional texts for independent reading, tests – it will allow the teacher to select the material that corresponds to the level of language profi ciency of a group or a particular student. Important requirement for textbooks on linguistic disciplines for foreign audience is functional and communicative orientation: additional materials to develop the skills of scientifi c speech; selection of illustrative material and create tasks based on actual communicative needs of foreign students; identifying and commenting of using of certain lexical and grammatical forms that do not require  an explanation for native speakers, but are important when teaching foreigners.
