Abstract

In the process of reforming general secondary education, the issue of creating a modern educational environment is relevant, which would stimulate the natural needs of students to search for novelty and explore new things. We consider the innovative educational environment as an open and dynamic system that should provide comfortable conditions for the development, education and upbringing of students based on universal values and the formation of the key competences necessary for successful self-realization in the XXI century.In pedagogical practice, an important area is the preparation of both practicing teachers and students of higher pedagogical educational institutions, for the application of scientific developments. The article reveals the content and structure of the program of a special course «Assessment of the level of innovativeness of the educational environment of the gymnasium». The purpose of implementing the special course in the process of self-education and professional development of teachers is to prepare the heads and teachers of basic secondary education to use the tools for assessing the educational environment of the school. The author describes the content of the structural components of the special course program (purpose, subject, requirements and expected learning outcomes of teachers according to the special course program, list and content of modules, the amount of learning load and forms of organization of the educational process). Emphasis is placed on the advisability of using the developed tools to assess the innovativeness of the educational environment of the gymnasium, which will help to determine one of the levels (adaptive, experimental, search and initiative, productive) and apply the evaluation results in the strategic planning of school work and designing of its innovative educational environment. In our opinion, this will help to motivate teachers to participate in innovation processes and develop innovative projects. Perspective researches are concerned with studying the results of the implementation of the special course «Assessment of the level of innovativeness of the educational environment of the gymnasium» in pedagogical practice and the search and scientific substantiation of new approaches and methods to ensure the effectiveness of innovative educational environment of educational institutions.
