APPLICATION OF CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT COLOR FROM PROFESSIONAL ENCYCLOPEDIC PUBLICATIONS FOR THE SPECIALTY "ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN"

Abstract

A significant amount of knowledge in "Color Science" is distributed across specialized graduate courses in accordance with the educational and artistic direction. However, the general approach to introducing the historical and cultural aspects of color theory to the student audience remains an understudied and inapplicable component in the educational process. Ultimately, a direct approach to the specifics of color is naturally redirected towards the practical and educational aspects of the work. Thus, the search for underlying principles of the broad integration of color's stylistic diversity within the dynamics of the world remains a dilemma, with varying interpretations that fail to lead to a unified approach. This lack of consensus prevents a clear understanding of how to position color as a universal external indicator of cultural and historical change in international contexts. Therefore, given the limited presence of similar domestic pedagogical developments, it is important to carefully examine the Western "historical-encyclopedic experience" of the accumulated cultural material, which should be adapted to the educational field to foster an introductory understanding of color communication, particularly for specialties such as "environment design".

This study presents the pedagogical experience of using specific encyclopedic publications on the problems of effective use of color in developing a harmonious environment, within the context of an educational approach to the historical and cultural aspects of stylized design. Such "interdisciplinary reduction" as an "educational and innovative coordination" paves the way for establishing additional meaningful color and historical relays of the world interior development, contributing to the active modernization of the complex software of the specialty "environmental design". Thus, mastering the existing historical and encyclopedic experience in analyzing color manifestations within the world environmental evolution not only uncovers gaps in coordinating significant cultural priorities in the domestic elaboration of multi-colored indexed civilization, but also practical mechanisms for studying the reconstruction of understanding the use of color in the context of stylistic achievements of mankind.
