Abstract
The article outlines the conceptual framework for the implementation of competenceoriented teaching in Ukrainian literature textbook for students of grade 11. The conditions, educational requirements and methodological approaches to the organization of competenceoriented literary teaching, as well as the basic ideas of competence-based, activity-related, personality-oriented and cultural approaches, principles and methods of teaching are substantiated. The role of general educational skills and competence-based tasks for the formation of reading and key competencies, the didactic and methodological capabilities of a textbook as a means of organizing competence-oriented teaching Ukrainian literature is highlighted. The organization of competence-oriented Ukrainian literature teaching, taking into account the ideas of key pedagogical approaches, is built on the classical didactic principles, as well as on the principles of continuity, reflexivity, activity, variability, consistency, situational teaching, co-creation, humanization, dialogic interaction, the choice of an individual educational trajectory, reliance on subject experience, integration of traditional and innovative technologies of teaching and upbringing, etc. The distinctive features of the educational process of competence-oriented teaching are the active action of a student (his/her activity is not limited to fulfilling the teacher’s instructions, but is characterized by independence in the choice of learning goals, ways of achieving them, means, planning and implementation, reflection, evaluation and correction of results), that is, in the process of mastering the subject material, the student forms his own subjectness and competence, and searches for personal meanings and values, and then (a personality is formed). In the process of performing competence-oriented tasks, the position of a language and literature teacher and his/her students changes. The role of the teacher begins to change its functions and he/she acts as the organizer, coordinator of educational process, consultant, mentor, directs his/her activity to the student, who takes the position of reading activity subject in the process of mastering the subject general educational skills and key competencies. The teacher’s important activity is the filling the real content of the methodical approaches for personality-oriented, activity-related and competence-based approaches to teaching Ukrainian literature, which ensures the development of creative, productive, analytical abilities of students, contributes to the formation of their reading and core competences.
