Abstract
The article analyzes Ukrainian language model curricula for grades 5–6 of general secondary education (authors — N. Holub, O. Horoshkina and O. Zabolotnyi, V. Zabolotnyi, V. Lavrynchuk, K. Plivachuk, T. Popova) and identifies their innovative features.
Attention is paid to expanding the purpose and reformatting the tasks of learning Ukrainian language in general secondary education, highlighting the expected outcomes, the subject content and educational activities types (organizational, cognitive, speech, text). The model curricula declare the principle of teachers’ socio-cultural topics choice, educational activities choice, topics of creative work and didactic material, etc.).
Changes in the sequence of studying sections of modern Ukrainian language are interpreted, in particular, emphasis is placed on a fully justified systematic studying lexicology and phraseology in 5th grade, consistent and comprehensive mastery of Ukrainian grammar, which includes sections «Word structure», «Word-formation», «Morphology», «Syntax».
The views change according to the repetition system of learning material in grades 1–4 and the transition from the special repetition of educational material at the beginning of each grade to the accompanying repetition during the studying various topics from the curricula is substantiated.
The speech content line was transformed: the topics «Information», «Text», «Genres of speech», «Communication» were highlighted, attention was paid to the use of not only artistic texts but also media ones in Ukrainian language lessons; new creative works types and modern working methods with information are offered. Socio-cultural content line representation in model curricula is carried out through the prism of key competencies, etc.
