Abstract
The article actualized the problem of scientific substantiation of procedures of state final attestation in the gymnasium in the form of external independent evaluation. The expediency of carrying out in the gymnasium the final certification in the form of external independent assessment as an effective mechanism for monitoring and objective evaluation of educational results of applicants for basic education level is justified. The emphasis is placed on the need for a systematic solution of organizational and pedagogical, technological, and economic issues to ensure the implementation of a new form of final certification. The conclusion was drawn
that in these conditions while the teaching and methodological support of a new form of final certification still needs to be developed, the textbook itself might become an effective tool that prepares pupils for participation in an external independent evaluation. Analysis of current textbooks for applicants of basic secondary education in natural and social science subjects as to the possibilities of their content, analytical tools, structures and forms of exercises, tasks for control and self-control in providing training to the pupils of gymnasium for final certification in the form of external evaluation. It is emphasized that it is the didactic
capabilities of the textbook as a means of forming the subject and key competencies that may determine its effectiveness in the preparation for the final attestation. It is substantiated that one of the important points in preparing for a new form of final
certification is the systematic work of the pupils of the gymnasium on the implementation of test tasks that are used during the external independent evaluation. It is concluded that modern textbooks on natural and social science subjects for the 9th grade contain many questions and problems, however, a small number of test tasks. The dominant form of tasks among them is the task of choosing one correct answer. However, one of the tendencies of external independent assessment of graduates of the profile school is the gradual decrease in the test of the number of tasks of this form and the increase of the number of other forms of tasks. It is emphasized that under current conditions a textbook should be considered only as a component of the teaching and methodical kit. And only a teaching and methodical kit can be a tool for preparing for the introduction of a new form of final evaluation and monitoring of educational achievements of applicants for basic education.
