Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the psychological and pedagogical problems of modern economic education in the gymnasium and lyceum connected with the need for timely social and economic adaptation of a student’s personality in the modern society, and this becomes possible both through the formation of systemic economic knowledge and through the formation of
personal resources in the process of teaching the course of economy with updated textbooks for high school students. The content and form of a textbook of economics for students must meet all innovative requirements and transformational processes in the social and economic spheres. The article describes the concepts of intellectual and socio-economic adaptation of an individual and the concept of a personal resource. To implement the tasks of economic education, in particular, the formation and development
of the above qualities of students, it is necessary to rely on the foundations of economic psychology. Economic psychology is a science that studies economic thinking, a subjective form of existence and development of economic needs and interests of an individual, collective and society. Within the framework of economic psychology, many ramifications are being formed, among
them industrial economic psychology is singled out, which examines changes in the labor behavior of workers under the influence of both external and internal factors. So the study of economics in secondary education institutions requires a combination of new
pedagogical approaches and the implemenation of research of psychologists to optimize the process of adapting a student’s personality to new economic processes. Modern knowledge of economics helps students in the learning process to form a fairly complete picture of the development of modern society, as well as to determine the personal life position, make independent decisions under various economic conditions of choice, adapt adequately and quickly to further independent life activity. Successful socio-economic adaptation of an individual in society is possible only on the condition of self-expression and self-realization of students’ personal resources in the gymnasium, lyceum and further independent life.
