Abstract

The article reveals the essence of the competence approach in studies. The table of contents and features of competence-oriented method of studies of the wave phenomena is determined in the textbook of physics for the 9-th grade of gymnasium. Swaying processes — one of most widespread in nature, a study of which is the powerful instrument of cognition, by the universal key to many secrets of outward things. The specific of the competence-oriented method of studies of the wave phenomena consists in the realization of the unique approach to forming of the major generalized concepts about oscillation and waves of any nature: periodicity of the phenomena, physical sizes which characterize them (period, amplitude, frequency, wave-length, and etc.); the use of mathematical vehicle is with the purpose of quantitative description of vibrations of different nature; the leadthrough of educational physical experiment in the time of studying properties of mechanical and electromagnetic waves. In accordance with the renewed program, the studies of the mechanical and electromagnetic wave phenomena are not divided in time, mechanical vibrations are examined as an example of application of the laws of classic mechanics, but electromagnetic are electrodynamics. The study of mechanical waves begins from forming of general pictures of wave motion and proceeds an acquaintance with the acoustic phenomena, that is instrumental in expansion of maintenance and volume of concept «wave» — from those which are perceived by sight, to invisible. A modern textbook must give a possibility for the personality to carry out educational activity as constituent of social experience by mastering of physical and universal methodological knowledge, realization of heuristic and research activities, emotionally valued and social adaptation attitude toward cognition of outward things. With the aim of forming of the willingness to independently apply the knowledge about the wave phenomena competenceoriented tasks and exercises should be in the textbook on the basis of which the key and subject competencies of students are formed.
