Abstract
The article examines the features of a new textbook on the history of Belarus for the 6th grade of general secondary education institutions, which is used in the educational process in the Republic of Belarus from 2016/2017. The author comes to the conclusion that for a number of reasons this textbook can be considered as a «textbook of a new generation». In this textbook, much attention is paid to the creation of a three-level system of methodical apparatus, which allows to effectively implement the individual trajectory of education. In general, an attempt is made to implement a new approach to the goals of education: through basic and additional questions and tasks, pupils are focused on the formation and development of a variety of educational competencies. To the development of a variety of competences (mainly information-communicative), non-verbal presentation of information is intended: illustrative material, diagrams, tables and maps. The illustrations in the new textbook are diverse and numerous, which distinguishes it from previous educational publications. To the most of the illustrations questions and tasks are given that allow you to focus attention on some aspects of certain phenomena and events that are not taken into account in the main text of the paragraph. Cartographic material is more widely presented in the new textbook on the history of Belarus. A variety of maps are of a complex nature, substantially supplementing the material of the textbook. For the first time in the textbook of the Republic of Belarus the navigation system has been fully implemented, including using QR-codes, which redirect to interactive tasks hosted on the LearningApps platform. The textbook also offers to visit museums and sights of the Republic of Belarus, which allows to expand and consolidate the understanding of the period studied.
