GEOGRAPHY TEXTBOOK AS THE CONSTITUENT OF EDUCATIONAL AND METHODOLOGICAL PROVISION OF GENERAL SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS

Abstract

The article deals with the role and place of the modern geography textbook as a constituent of educational and methodological provision of general secondary educational establishments. Some results of conducted research in general secondary educational establishments of one of the cities of regional subordination of Sumy region concerning the role of educational and methodological support in improving the quality of teaching geography, the quality of work of the school library, the equipping of geography study rooms with modern means of education, the role of school textbook in the process of teaching geography are shown. Terms of effective teaching and methodological support of general secondary educational establishments are analyzed. Teaching and methodological support of educational establishments is the most important condition for the effectiveness of educational process. It covers educational textbooks on disciplines, manuals, study guides, didactic and visual aids, computer training programs, etc. Increasing the level of teaching and methodological support for teaching geography contributes to the systematic study of these problems in general secondary educational establishments. Taking into account the considerable variety of educational and methodological literature, the purpose of our study was to analyze the status of teaching and methodological provision for geography lessons by various types of teaching aids and didactic materials.
