Abstract
The article deals with the problem of the development of innovative educational and methodological support for modern school literary education in the context of the New Ukrainian School objectives. The contribution of scientists to the development of the theory and history of a school textbook is analyzed. The Ukrainian literature textbook for the 10-th grade students (level of standard) is considered to be an effective tool of dominant and subject readers’ literacy competencies formation. The didactic-methodical aspect of the Ukrainian literature textbook is developed, taking into account conceptual ideas of personality-oriented and competence teaching, activity and cultural approaches. Competence orientation of the educational material is traced in the content of artistic and journalistic essays («Acquaintance from afar and near» and «Art world of a writer», «Cultural and artistic context») and in the methodical apparatus (sections «Questions and tasks», «Reader self-control», «Your Reading Projects», etc.). The content of the headings «Reader’s Guide», «Reading Dialogs», «Questions and Tasks», «Your Reading Projects», «Reader Self-Control», provides students with the development of dialogic reading skills, provides an appeal to their reading experience, focuses on the definition of personal attitude to work, improvement of independent research activity skills. The textbook provides a balanced representation of the analytical questions of reproductive, partly-search and problematic nature, which methodically convincingly ensures the organization of various types of educational activities (independent work of students, work in groups, etc.). The information content of the heading «Cultural and artistic context» is aimed at the development of the general cultural and comparative competences of students. Literary critical material contained in artistic and journalistic essays and in the «Reader Guide» motivates students to develop their literary competence. The rubric «Evaluate in a traversed way» encourages each student to understand their own way of improving the level of reader’s competence.
