Abstract

The article analyses the Conceptual Principles of Secondary School Reform, which will affect the process of modernization of primary education. The main components of modernization are determined, which will influence the changes in didactic-methodical support for the primary level of education in the conditions of implementation of the ideas of the New Ukrainian school. The analysis of the state of functioning of primary education and its actual problems, which caused the reform, is given. A description of the content of education is put, based on the formation of competencies in pupils. Essential features of competence-oriented learning are named. The way which the educational content of a particular educational field can realize its potential for the formation of key competencies is shown. The leading principles of pedagogy of partnership between a pupil, a teacher and parents are described as an important aspect of the reform; the principles of partnership are determined to take into account in the construction of the New Ukrainian School. A characteristic of the person-centered model of learning is given as an essential guideline for the New Ukrainian School. Two study cycles are described as a feature of a new structure of primary school. Its purpose and peculiarities of the organization are specified. The emphasis is placed on the cross-cutting character of the process of education at school that focuses on values. The perspective direction of research is defined as a creation of proper didactic-methodical support in which the principles of the Concept will be implemented.
