Abstract
Evaluation issue of foreign language textbooks by national and international scholars, description of its criteria, allocation of requirements for their linguistic content are analyzed in the article. The views of the Ukrainian and foreign specialists of foreign language school textbooks writing have been studied. A number of criteria to the school textbook evaluation from the position of different approaches are given.
