Abstract
The article highlights actual problems how to use geography manual for teaching at school. The problems connected with methodical peculiarities for dealing with manual by geography teacher are analyzed. Methodical recommendations for using manual at school and home and also integrated aspects of teaching geography at school are given. Content of the article points out that the textbook – a first source of educational information, the main didactic tool, which provides teaching and learning process. Textbook – is an essential component of all educational and methodical process, an essential component of the educational system. How, then, while studying geography give students the necessary knowledge and skills when working with a textbook and that while the role of the teacher of geography. After all, science geography develops at the intersection of natural and social sciences, including a range of issues of interaction between society and nature in territorial aspect. Textbook geography is to form students' ability to use various sources of geographic data – mapping (maps, kart elements cards), statistics (digital, numeric, chart, quantitative Tables), media (TV, Internet sources, etc.) – searchable interpretations and demonstrations of various geographic information and development of students on the basis of these key geographic competence in carrying out specific actions acquired through the application of geographical knowledge and previous experience. Therefore, it is systematically applied in teaching rational, well-adjusted forms and methods of work with the textbook. Of course, the ability to work with the textbook comes to the disciples by itself, it must systematically teach, especially the ability to make rational organization of labour in geography lessons at school and at home – while doing homework. Using contemporary methods of learning and teaching methods, students learn to work independently with the textbook. Only self-study will give a positive result in acquiring geographical knowledge. The author reveals those necessary instructional techniques, the use of which will lead to the effective development of geographic knowledge among students, both times with a geography textbook in basic school.
