Abstract
In article is considered relevance and importance of problems of formation of competence in studding geography. The Ukrainian education develops new model of training which has to conform to requirements of the present. Article is devoted to a scientific pedagogical problem about new opportunities of the modern school-book of geography. The psychology and pedagogical analysis of the last publication on the chosen theme is carried out and the importance of the present matter at the modern stage is opened. The author is interested in the methods of work with the school-book in action, in search and research. There is shown the methods of using school-book of geography for formation of abilities and skills to study. The author claims that developing ability of pupils to use the acquired knowledge in the conditions of the market relations it is very necessary. The technique of accumulation of geographical knowledge is presented by practical use of the contents of the textbook. It is opened the considerable importance out of a text component of the structural contents of the school-book for studding in new conditions. Samples of questions and tasks of search and research character at the rate of geography “Ukraine in the world of nature and population” for formation of competence of pupils by means of the school-book are shown. Productive tasks of a different kind are also practical. They are calculated on work with illustrative material of the school-book. Optimum psychology and pedagogical conditions for receiving new geographical knowledge in the context of competence-based approach in teaching and educational process of general education institution are developed. It is presented pedagogical conditions which consist of organizational, psychological and methodical components. The main attention is paid new the potential of the school book. Influence of productive tasks of the search and research direction on formation of competence at pupils by means of the schoolbook is proved. Prospects of further researches in this direction are defined.
