Abstract

In the article it’s discussed the problem of gender-balanced content of the textbooks, particularly of Ukrainian literature textbooks, which has become actual in the mainstream adoption of pressing issue of gender parity in Ukraine. The analysis of the textbook for the 5th grade of secondary school is given in the aspectof the problem. Special attention is paid to the impact of the school textbook on sex-role socialization and its role in shaping of the gender culture of teenagers.
