Abstract
The article deals with the problem of the value-oriented approach in the process of professional identifi cation of the high school students. The author analyzes the results of modern researches on the formation of values and the high school students’ occupational identifi cation. This article describes the characteristics of the value-oriented approach as an important condition of the professional identifi cation of learners. Empirical data that indicates values affecting the choice of the profession by high school students is analyzed. The author believes that the system of textbook tasks should include the occupationally oriented tasks. Examples of such occupationally oriented tasks are suggested in the content of textbooks in Biology, Chemistry, and the Ukrainian language. This article provides some practical recommendations for making the curricula and the school textbooks. Author emphasizes that the value-oriented approach of modern textbooks should provide the knowledge, the skills, the content and the types of students’ activities which positively affect their professional identifi cation. The formation of personal potential should be based on the ability and the willingness of students to interact with other people and society.
