Abstract
This article describes the course of ascertaining experiment, which was conducted on the basis of secondary educational institutions in Kiev and Ukraine with the purpose of determining the level of use of differentiated didactic materials in the study course «The geography of continents and oceans» ( Grade 7 ). Survey data, interviewing and interrogation of geography teacher were analyzed and displayed in the tables number 1 «Place of differentiated didactic materials for a geography lesson in the 7th grade» and number 2 «Differentiated approach and didactic materials through the eyes of teachers». The main problems faced by teachers in choosing instructional materials for use in the classroom were disclosed and proposals for the establishment of scientifi c and methodical complex of described problem in the future were outlined. The results of ascertaining experiment showed that the majority of the teachers aware of the need for a differentiated approach to the development and use of teaching materials at geography lessons.
