Abstract
The article deals with the problem of forming students’ skills in the project activity while working with the geography textbook. The defi nition of essence to the concepts such as «teaching projecting», «project activity», «creative project activity» is given. The role of the textbook for the creation of small projects in the classroom is shown; the algorithm of project activity is given; the methodology for organization of students’ independent work in groups is revealed. The tasks for a group and every student are defi ned. Every student works with the same text of a textbook, but has a different concrete task. On completion of tasks by students a group discussion is possible, open discussion in a class or a competition on the better performance of work is declared. Organization of students’ home-work with a textbook, that assists the formation of project activity, is exposed. The author of the article accents on the practical aspect of study’s connection with the life and students motivation. As an example a fragment from a student’s project is demonstrated. However, it should be noted that a modern textbook doesn’t perform a suffi cient role in the effective organization of project activity. It is desirable in the textbooks of new generation to have some pages with additional interesting information, modern statistics, tables, diagrams.
