Abstract

The article deals with a problem of using the potential possibilities of theteaching-books in geography in the pupils’ ecological bringing up. In this paper,  the problem of using the potential of geography textbooks in the environmental education of students is considered as a result of the contradiction between the objective needs of the society with the involvement of the subject in the conservation of nature and the insuffi cient use in school practice. The author concludes that scientifi c knowledge and environmental education can change the picture of inexhaustible wealth of nature that had been emerging during centuries.
