Abstract
The article reviews the scientifi c and methodological basis using regional approach in teaching geography and ways of implementation due to the structure and content of geography textbooks for primary schools . Their content is realized earlier paper by the author proposed the idea trohstupinchastu concept of regional knowledge of students. It is through the prism of «native land», which is perceived:
• As a settlement;
• As a region (area or other element of the administrative territorial division);
• As the entire territory of Ukraine.
Local history component is an important element of modernizing the content of textbooks of geography. Thanks to its use of students of secondary schools expand understanding of the environment, natural and social phenomena more fully formed its own geographical view of the world. In addition, the design part of local history books on the methodological apparatus greatly enhances its capabilities.
