FOREIGN FULL-TEXT RESOURCES BELONGING TO THE PROFESSIONAL BRANCH AT V. SUKHOMLYNSKYI STATE SCIENTIFIC AND PEDAGOGICAL LIBRARY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is concerned with monitoring and analyzing full-text electronic resources belonging to the branches of library science, bibliography, linguistics, psychology, pedagogy and education published in different foreign languages and available at V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientifi c and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine.  The authors reveal the ways of searching for new literary sources belonging to the professional branch and the means of forming an online directory of periodicals, and also examine which of the analyzed resource pages are more popular with the readers on the portal of SSPL of Ukraine named in honour of V. Sukhomlynskyi (the section «Navigator in the Internet») for its updating and improving. The authors of the article point out that open access resources instantly help to spread new research results, and are able to meet the readers’ information needs for foreign professional branch periodicals. The analysis shows the priority areas of improving the effi ciency of online library service in the electronic information environment.
