Abstract
One of the ways of economic and social geography is a learning of population. Demographic characteristics of the population is an important component of school geography education. In the article the of there are demographic concepts explained in geography textbooks for profi le level, which facilitate students’ understanding by 10th and 11th grade complete the demographic characteristics of the population of the country and the world. The population of the world, country or region in the courses of economic and social geography for the 9th and the 10th grades is evaluated by the population size, gender- and age-specifi c, domestic and marital structure, social status and employment, quality of life and characteristics of marriage age, marriage serial number, number of children in a family, age of women at birth of a child. Students of secondary educational institutions should possess such general system knowledge and the link it. While studying the population of a country and the world during geography lessons, the students’ knowledge develops through a process of thinking and concepts formation.
