Abstract

The paper presents the design features of the new Ukrainian language textbook for Grade 5 secondary schools with Ukrainian language competency-based approach. The authors take into account the current domestic and international approaches to language education, offer mechanisms for implementing the competency in the learning process, as well as cognitive-communicative, learneroriented and activity approaches to learning; formation of key competencies considered as a prerequisite for the successful fulfi llment of the modern schoolboy in society. Presented a tutorial on the content and nature of the spirit of the time and content of the current curriculum in the Ukrainian language, aiming at the realization of the main objectives of education and training. Element of novelty in the textbook there promoting the conscious appreciation of the students theoretical material by observing the operation of a linguistic phenomenon to hear or read the text on their own, securing it in the process of creating your own statements. It is the texts in the textbook are a means of language development, speech skills, serve as material for the enrichment and development of speech and writing, illustration, analysis of linguistic units at different levels of development of interest in the language, patriotic, moral and aesthetic education of students, etc. Didactic .. textbook material has absorbed the best examples of domestic fi ction, poetry, journalism, texts contribute to the development of imaginative and logical thinking, learn to argue, the presentation is problematic nature. Practical work by the book is aimed at understanding and acceptance of human relationships and moral formation obschecheloveskih values.
