Abstract

The article deals with theoretical and methodological base of creating training manuals in geography in Belarus in accordance with the latest trends of the education system development in the Republic. The implementation of competency-based approach is considered in terms of differentiation and individualization, as well as content updating. General directions of content selection, as well as elements of a new generation basic textbook are determined.
