Abstract

In the article, the results of the research on the education content selection for the high school and its representation in the curriculum and textbooks are demonstrated. The essence of the issues that are the fundamentals for the research scientifi c context is determined. The main functions of modern education, namely, social, personality and culture formative were covered. The stages of the modern school education formation were specifi ed. They are projecting and realization.The levels for the modern school education projecting were characterized. They  comprise an overview of a common culture, subject, academic material, education process or the optional courses content in the teaching process for the formation of he personality’s basic structures, pupil’s personal experience. The main criteria for the education content selection were defi ned, namely, taking into consideration the practical value of the educational material content for the formation of the basic personality’s structures, taking into account the expediency of the pupils’ world outlook improvement by means of the scientifi c cognition methods and ways which ensure the conditions necessary for the whole development of a pupil’s personality.
