Abstract

The article raised the issue of the implementation of a competence approach to the study of a human in the authorial biology textbooks. The methodological potential of the authorial textbooks on human biology in the area of the formation of subject competence was featured based on its components (cognitive, activity and value) in combination with the key competencies: the ability to lifelearn; communication (communication in native/state language and foreign languages); health preservation or social competence for health and welfare; ecological (environmental safety and sustainable development); civil liability. The potential of the authorial biology textbooks on applying competence approach to the study of a human in terms of implementing the concept of "New Ukrainian School, standards-based education" was specified.
